When “I’m Not Enough” Lives in Your Body
There are some things people don't say right away.
Instead, I notice them.
The shallow breathing.
The tight jaw.
The shoulders that never seem to completely relax.
Sometimes I can feel how hard someone has been holding themselves together long before we begin talking.
Eventually, I hear:
"I feel like I'm always trying."
"No matter what I do, it never feels like enough."
"I'm exhausted... but I don't know how to stop."
I've heard different versions of those words for years.
Maybe you've said them too.
We Learn to Carry More Than We Were Meant To
Most of us weren't born believing we had to earn our worth.
Somewhere along the way, we learned that being productive made us valuable.
That rest had to be deserved.
Little by little, those beliefs become habits.
Then they become tension.
Not just in our thoughts, but in our bodies.
We hold our breath without noticing.
Our shoulders stay lifted.
Our stomach tightens.
Even when we're lying still, part of us is still working.
And most people don’t even realize this is happening.
Sometimes the Body Speaks First
One of the things I love about this work is that the body is incredibly honest.
The body will be the first to reveal what is happening because when it decompresses, it cannot pretend.
It simply tells the truth.
Sometimes that truth looks like tears.
Sometimes it's the deepest breath you've taken in months.
Sometimes it's realizing how tired you've actually been.
Our bodies have a way of showing us what our minds have been trying to ignore.
Why I Work the Way I Do
Over the years, I realized many people didn't need another thing to fix.
They needed somewhere they didn't have to keep trying.
That's one of the reasons I created Sensory Reiki™.
Each session is designed to offer something that's surprisingly rare:
A place where you don't have to perform.
You don't have to have the answers.
You don't have to hold everything together.
You get to rest.
And sometimes, that's where everything begins to shift.
What I've Learned
I've never watched someone heal because they tried harder.
I've watched healing happen when someone finally allowed themselves to receive.
When they stopped apologizing for taking up space.
When they stopped believing they had to earn rest.
When they realized they didn't need to become someone else to be worthy of care.
Those moments stay with me.
If You're Tired...
Not just physically.
But emotionally.
Mentally.
Spiritually.
If you're tired of feeling like you're always carrying something...
Maybe this is your reminder that you don't have to carry it alone.
Maybe the strongest thing you can do isn't pushing a little harder.
Maybe it's giving yourself permission to pause.
Surrender.
Receive.
Allow.
A Gentle Invitation
If you've been longing for a place where you can simply breathe, rest, and be cared for for a little while, I'd be honored to welcome you.
Whether we're together here on Maui or connecting through a Distance Reiki session, my hope is always the same:
That you leave feeling lighter than when you arrived.
With love,
Amy Lynn Lohr
