Before Your Sensory Reiki® Session

Thank you for choosing to experience Sensory Reiki®. I’m truly honored to hold this space for you.

No two sessions are exactly alike. We’ll begin by connecting and talking about your intention, comfort, and preferences. From there, your session may include Reiki, somatic touch, breath awareness, gentle craniosacral-inspired work, sound, aromatherapy, crystals, temperature, texture, or music. Some sessions call for more sensory input; others call for less. I’ll listen and adapt as we go.

You always have a choice. You can decline or change any scent, touch, sound, position, or other sensory element at any time.

A Gentle Invitation to Prepare

Take a moment to ask yourself: What would I like to feel more of? What is my intention?

Perhaps it’s calm, clarity, energy, grounding, or connection.

There’s no right answer, and you don’t need to figure it out beforehand. We can explore it together at the start of your session.

To help you feel comfortable:

  • Stay hydrated and eat lightly before your appointment.

  • Wear loose clothing you can fully relax in. An open neckline, minimal makeup and jewelry, and hair worn down make it easier for me to work gently around your head, neck, and upper chest.

  • If possible, avoid caffeine for 24 hours before your session.

Please do not consume alcohol or use recreational drugs for at least 24 hours before your session. You must arrive sober and able to give informed consent. If you arrive under the influence, we will need to reschedule.

Please let me know before your appointment if you have allergies to oils or salves, metal implants, a recent illness or current health concern, or if you’re pregnant or postpartum. This helps me choose sensory elements and touch that feel appropriate for you.

You don’t need to arrive perfectly relaxed, clear your mind, or know exactly what you need. Come as you are.

After Your Session

Give yourself time to settle and notice how you feel.

Drink water, rest if you need to, and move gently through the rest of your day. You may feel peaceful, tired, emotional, energized, creative, or deeply relaxed.

Every experience is different.

If it appeals to you, take a salt bath or a dip in the ocean or ʻĪao. You might also journal about any feelings, sensations, or insights that came up. There’s nothing you need to make happen or interpret right away.

If you have questions afterward or want to share something about your experience, please reach out. I’m always happy to hear from you.

Thank you for trusting me with this time. I look forward to welcoming you.

Cancellation policy: Cancellations within 24 hours are subject to the full session charge. First-time reschedules may qualify for a partial waiver.
