When “I’m Not Enough” Lives in Your Body

A note for the woman who is constantly trying too hard.

In sessions, I often meet women who are carrying something heavy — but quiet.
It doesn’t always show up in words at first. It shows up in their breath, their shoulders, the way their body holds tension even when they’re trying to relax.

Eventually, it comes out.

“I’m doing so much… but I still feel like I’m not doing enough.”
“I’ve come so far… but something still feels off.”
“I want to rest, but I don’t know how to stop.”

“I don’t know what I want.”

“I have a hard time making decisions.”

If any of that feels familiar, this is for you.

1. That voice isn’t actually yours

That belief — the one whispering that you should be more, do more, hold more — didn’t come from your soul.
It was taught.

Maybe from childhood.
Maybe from our culture - always rewarding the hustle and perfection.
Maybe from being the one who always had to be okay for everyone else.

But here’s the truth:
You don’t have to carry that anymore.

2. The nervous system remembers everything

Even when your mind says “I’m fine,” your body might still be holding stories of not-enoughness.

That’s why talk alone doesn’t always help. Although talk therapy and reiki are a beautiful sisterhood.

But talk alone doesn’t always help because this isn’t just a mindset issue — it’s something that lives in your body.

Sister,

You are not broken.
Your system just hasn’t felt safe enough yet to let go.

3. Healing is about remembering what’s real

When I offer Sensory Reiki™, the goal isn’t to “fix” anything.
It’s to help your body remember what it’s like to feel safe — even if just for a moment.
So your breath gets a little deeper.
Your jaw softens.
Your heart has space to feel without judgment.

And in that softening, something shifts.
You stop trying so hard to be enough…
and start feeling like you already are.

I’ve witnessed the most beautiful awakenings as clients drop into this feeling of safety so deeply that a new found self love and self awareness appear that help change everything.

4. What might change when you stop proving yourself

When the pressure starts to loosen, here’s what I often witness:

  • A woman crying and not apologizing for it

  • A full exhale that’s been stuck for years

  • Clarity arising from finally listening and HEARING AND CONNECTING

  • A feeling of coming home to the body, instead of fighting it

This is what I want for you. Not perfection.
But peace.

5. If this feels close to home…

You don’t have to keep holding everything by yourself.
You don’t have to earn your rest.
You don’t have to keep proving that you’re worthy of softness, care, or support.

Whether you’re in Maui or booking from afar, I offer a grounded space to land — virtually or in person. Sensory Reiki is for the woman who feels deeply, holds so much, and is ready to come home to herself again.

If this speaks to you, I’d be honored to hold space for your next step.

With warmth,
Amy
